The world needs stability

John 14:27 NLT: “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart... (that) the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” –Jesus

We need the stability of Christ.

Social Media is increasingly flooded with highly emotional people from all walks of life, literally screaming uncontrollably—or with quiet seething—spewing unprecedented hatred against recent election results and those who believe differently than they do.

Peace of mind, friendships, families, jobs, and more, are being ripped apart. The world needs encouragement and hope. And no matter how seemingly capable, it’s not possible for anyone to bring us a lasting version of what we need. That’s why Jesus came—to give us the ability to live in this world, but not be a victim of its fallible nature. His Word tells us how.

See John 10:10 where Jesus warned us, “The thief” (the god of this world) comes to steal, kill and destroy. But He came so we would have “abundant” life. Jesus came to reveal how we can stop that “thief” from operating in our lives.

It starts with believing He is God, who came in the flesh—then choose to trust what He taught about living God’s way instead of the world’s, so we can faithfully follow Him to discover how we can live in this world without being like it or a victim of it. No matter where we’re at, we can start there.

It’s amazing too how He helps us when we stumble or fall while following Him, for He always hears repentant hearts who are crying out to Him. Dig into His Word, my friends, so you too can… “Present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who… correctly handles the word of truth.” –2 Timothy 2:15 NIV.

When we do… “ (We) experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:7 NLT
