Christmas is a time like no other as we celebrate the most amazing birth in history. But we miss out on things even greater if we stop there.
He became the center of history. His coming caused us to divide it into the BC and AD eras, events happening before or after he was here.
His Followers call him, “Jesus.” He was known as the son of a common carpenter by trade, yet his actions and teachings tell us he was much more. He changed the world, the present and future too.
What could a mere man do that would forever change the course of mankind, and have Him so unforgettably affixed in man’s past, present and future?
(Spoiler alert!) It’s not so much what He did, but WHO He was and is!
Our Bibles tell enough to put us in awe. Luke 1:26-38 shares about his conception, which helps us understand the magnitude of his miraculous beginning and birth, for it shows how he was not only a physical man but also God. His unique makeup set God’s plan for man into motion, for a few days later two known prophets of God confirmed who the baby was, Israel’s long-awaited Messiah, and everyone’s deliverer. (Luke 2:25-38).
Jesus launched his unforgettable three-year teaching ministry at a wedding celebration, with an attention-getting miracle. He instantly changed common water into quality wine! (John 2:1-11). And the shocked servants who had drawn the water for Him, were first-hand witnesses to it all. The event started the seeing of unbelievable miracles that defied the laws of science and nature. And his unforgettable teaching revealed who God was and is, and how we can have a personal relationship with Him.
I’ve only begun to scratch the surface of his amazing life, which we can discover for ourself in the pages of the New Testament, including The Way Jesus made for us, so we can enjoy life with Him and the Father. Have you found it?
